Genshin Impact Iron Viscount Location and How to Beat

The Iron Viscount is one of the hidden bosses in Genshin Impact. It is also the Local Legend of Fontaine, which you can find under the Scorching Caves of Elynas in the game. The Iron Viscount is a tricky customer. Most of your attacks will seem to do no damage when you first fight the boss. It is also difficult to reach the correct location. However, we will help you with both problems.

Iron Viscount Location in Genshin Impact

You can find the Iron Viscount within the Scorching Cave, located in Elynas, Fontaine (We have marked the location on the above map). To access the cave’s entrance, you need to collect the Hydrograna puzzle pieces from the Hot Springs located to the south of the Archon of the Seven.

Genshin Impact Hot Springs Puzzle Guide

The Hot Springs puzzle is the first step to get access to the Iron Viscount's location. To do this, your first task is to locate and arrange three Hydro totems strategically around the island's chest, situated at the center of the hot springs.

The first Hydro totem is just near the bank of the water body and is surrounded by enemies. Defeat them to get to the totem.

You will find the second Hydro totem a little further to the right of the first one. It is within a Pneuma energy structure. You will find a purple glowing Ousia energy orb just beside the structure on top of a tree trunk. Use it to break the energy structure.

The third Hydro totem is on the right side of the second totem. Climb the small cliff and you will find it hidden behind some Dendro vines. Use the Flaming Flower Stamen near it to burn the vines down and free the totem.

Once you send all the Hydro totems to the Precious chest in the centre of the small pond, you can start unlocking the path to Iron Viscount.

The next step is to take the Hydrograna above the chest and stand at the center of the Hydro totems to activate them all. This will unlock the chest, revealing a portal leading to the Iron Viscount's location.

Upon entering the portal, it will transport you to an underwater cave. Once you are inside, you will need to extinguish all Pyro bonfires using the Hydrograna you’ve gathered. Once you start extinguishing the bonfires, you will unveil the Iron Viscount boss.

How to Beat Iron Viscount in Genshin Impact

You may see that your conventional diving attacks are ineffective when fighting the Iron Viscount. Moreover, its attacks carry substantial damage. There are two things you need to do in order to win this fight. First, you need to dodge the bosses spinning attacks, which deal immense damage. Following it, you have to use the Xenochromatic Armored Crabs situated near you.

It’s easy to use the crab’s power in the fight. You need to absorb its skill. To do that, grasp your primary attack to lock onto the blue crabs and let go. This action will give you their shielding capabilities. Now, use the assimilated skill by pressing your usual Elemental Skill button.

By utilizing the shield ability from the Xenochromatic Armored Crab, you can protect yourself and deflect the attacks of the Iron Viscount. When the boss comes at you with its spinning attack or the throwing attack, activate the shield ability and aim it back at the boss to deal damage. You need to keep repeating this counterattack strategy until you successfully defeat the boss.
