How to Pre-Install Genshin Impact 2.8 Update

Travelers are eagerly waiting for the release of the Genshin Impact 2.8 update that will bring the Heizou banner, Kazuha rerun, a new story quest and hangout event, Diluc's and Fischl's costumes, and much more. 

The patch will be released on July 13, and it will be over 10 GB for PC and consoles, while for mobile devices, it will be over 6 GB. Whether you have high-speed internet or not, waiting for the files to get downloaded is a tiring task.

So, HoYoverse has provided the pre-installation feature for the Genshin Impact update that you can use on PC and mobile devices to download most of the update files in advance. 

Steps to pre-install Genshin Impact 2.8 update

Genshin Impact 2.8 update pre-install function will be available on July 11, and here's how you can pre-install it on PC and mobile.

PC

The first thing that you need to do is update the game's launcher after the pre-installation function becomes available. Once you do it, the option to pre-install patch 2.8 will appear on the left side of the Launch button.

There are two ways to pre-install the update on Android and iOS devices, the first one being from the login screen while the other is from the Paimon menu. Travelers can "Pre-Install Resource Package" icon present on the bottom right side of the screen to start the pre-installation.

In addition to this, you can also go to the Paimon Menu > Settings > Other > Pre-Install Resource Package to start the process. 

One thing that you need to keep in mind while pre-installing the Genshin Impact 2.8 update is that you can't play the game until it has been downloaded completely.

PC players, on the other hand, can keep on enjoying the game while the download is in progress.
