Steam adds PS5 DualSense support

The PlayStation 5 controller is currently being tested in the beta version of the client.
Steam adds PS5 DualSense support

One thing that stood out from the early PlayStation 5 reviews was the almost unanimous praise for the DualSense controller.

Everyone agrees that the PS5 controller is a true next-gen experience and that the feeling it offers when you play is unlike anything else on the market.

The good news for PC players is that soon they too will be able to experience the feeling of playing with the DualSense, just days after the release of the console.

The latest update to the Steam Beta Client introduces official support for the PS5 controller.

The update was released 14th November, and it is available now for anyone who wants to try it.

All you need to do is to change your Steam client to the Beta version.

In order to do that, you should click on "Steam" in the upper left corner and then got to Settings>Account.

There, you should click "CHANGE..." next to "Beta participation", and then in the drop-down menu select "Steam Beta Update".

Click "OK", restart Steam, and that's it, your Steam client is now in the beta version. The process is the same when you decide to go back, just select "NONE" in the drop-down menu.

Currently, support for the PS5 DualSense controller includes identification of the controller and full input support, which includes things like button configuration and visual representation of all the buttons in games.

Advanced DualSense features, like haptic feedback, trackpad, and gyro, will not be supported from the start, but the wording indicates that Valve is planning to add that as well.
