Hogwarts Legacy Best Talents Tier List: Which Talents To Unlock and Max

Talents are the skill tree equivalent of an RPG in Hogwarts Legacy. By spending Talent Points, you can hone different aspects of Talents in the game.

These aspects are Spells, Dark Arts, Core, Stealth, and Room of Requirement. If you just unlocked Talents in Hogwarts Legacy and are overwhelmed by the number of options available, fret not.

Below is our Hogwarts Legacy Talents list, where we explain the best Talents you need to unlock to get better at combat, stealth, exploration, and more.

Best Talents in Hogwarts Legacy

Our Hogwarts Legacy Talents List is divided into five parts, explaining the best Talents of all the different aspects. 

Spells

Incendio Mastery

Description: Casting Incendio unleashes a ring of flame around you.

Incendio is an early damage close-range spell that you will unlock in Hogwarts Legacy. With the Incendio Mastery Talent, you get an AOE that will come in handy when taking out hordes of Spiders and other beasts.

Confringo Mastery

Description: Confringo impacts produce fiery bolts that seek enemy targets

Confringo is a high-damage long-range spell, which you will find yourself using a lot midway into the game. The Confringo Mastery Talents make this spell incredibly useful when taking down groups of Dark Wizards later in the main story or when exploring the countryside.

Levioso Mastery

Description: Enemies near a target levitated by Levioso are also levitated.

Levioso Mastery may not look very important, but it makes some late-game encounters less tedious, especially when you're facing a group of Dark Wizards where one of them has a yellow shield up, and you can't seem to reach them directly.

Bombarda Mastery

Description: Bombarda causes an explosive blast with a massive area of effect. 

Bombarda is yet another high-damaging spell that gains AOE with the Bombarda Mastery. As the story progresses, you will find yourself getting overwhelmed with groups of enemies rather frequently, and it's essential to have a few AOE damage abilities in your arsenal.

Dark Arts

Disarming Curse

Description: Expelliarmus has the same effect as a curse on enemies. Cursed enemies take increased damage.

Expelliarmus is one of the first damage Spells you unlock. While it doesn't do much damage, the Disarming Curse will allow you to stack up Curse damage on enemies, something that becomes more and more useful as you progress through the story. 

Imperio Mastery

Description: An enemy under your control with Imperio curses other targets with each successful strike.

Imperio isn't the most excruciating unforgivable spell of all three, but it can be the most useful when you unlock the Imperio Mastery talent. The more enemies get cursed, the merrier, and this would allow you to do just that. 

Crucio Mastery

Description: Striking an enemy cursed by Crucio releases a projectile that curses a nearby enemy.

Crucio does substantial damage of its own, but with Crucio Mastery, you can increase the subsequent damage an enemy takes by cursing them.

Blood Curse

Description: Dealing damage to a cursed target inflicts damage to all cursed targets.

When all enemies are cursed on the battlefield by the Disarming Curse, Imperio Mastery, and Crucio Mastery, you can attack one and damage all of them simultaneously with the Blood Curse. Pretty sweet, right?

Avada Kedavra Mastery

Description: Killing an enemy with Avada Kedavra kills all cursed enemies.

It's the most lethal Talent of them all. If you have successfully cursed all enemies using the aforementioned Talents, you can end them simultaneously with the Avada Kedavra Mastery. Hogwarts Legacy isn't incredibly challenging, so you may not need to use the killing curse in combat. But hey, sometimes it's good to be evil, right? 

Core

Basic Cast Mastery

Description: Basic Cast impacts reduce spell cooldowns.

The basic cast is your go-to spell in Hogwarts Legacy, something you will use repeatedly while your other special magic spells undergo cooldown. With the Basic Cast Mastery, you can reduce that cooldown and use your special spells more often in combat. 

Spell Knowledge 1, 2 & 3

Description: A new Spell set is added

Of all the Core Talents, Spell Knowledge 1, 2, and 3 are the most important upgrades. Unlocking all three of them will give you extra three spell slots. This way, you don't have to keep swapping your assigned spells every now and then, and you can have four separate slots for damage spells, control and transfiguration spells, unforgivable spells, and beast spells at the same time. 

Wiggenweld Potency 1 & 2

Description: Wiggenweld heals you to a greater effect

It's pretty self-explanatory. The primary way to heal yourself in Hogwarts Legacy is by using the Wiggenweld potion. With the Wiggenweld Potency update, the healing potion will recover more health. 

Protego Expertise

Description: Blocking a spell with Perfect Protego will send two projectiles back at enemies.

Perfectly deflecting enemy attacks sends a projectile that stuns enemies. Why not increase the number of projectiles it shoots to two?

Stealth 

Human Demiguise

Description: Allows you to Sprint while using Disillusionment

Midway through the story, you will encounter several missions in which a stealthy approach is recommended. Given how slowly the main character moves while under the effect of the Disillusionment, stealth can get boring. Unlocking the Human Demiguise Talent makes it more fun.

Petrificus Totalus Mastery

Description: Petrificus Totalus emanates an area of effect that can impact nearby enemies.

Stealth is pretty broken in Hogwarts Legacy, so why not break it even more with the Petrificus Totalus Mastery? The final few missions in the game will often place you in scenarios where you have to defeat a hordes of enemies. With this Talent, you can clear the crowd a little

Room of Requirements

Maxima Potion Potency

Description: Maxima Potion causes attacks to have additional increased damage and break enemy shields.

Outside of the Wiggenweld, you would probably not spend much time using Potions in combat. However, if you decide to, Maxima Potion is a great choice since it increases your spell damage. Maxima Potion Potency upgrade further increases spell damage, which will come in handy when taking out late-game bosses.

Thunderbrew Potency

Description: The range and damage of the potion effect are greatly increased.

Thunderbrew Potion is a fancy crowd-control potion, but if it's something you enjoy using, you're better off getting the Thunderbrew Potency upgrade, as it increases both the range and damage of the potion.
