Can You Play Honkai Star Rail On Console?

Honkai Star Rail is a turn-based RPG created by the esteemed Genshin Impact development studio, HoYoverse. The game is set in space and looks to provide just as much strategic gameplay and exciting story as every other HoYoverse title to date. The title is being marketed as both a mobile and PC game, but can you play Honkai Star Rail on console? This is the question we will endeavor to answer today.

Can You Play Honkai Star Rail On Console?

At the time of writing this, Honkai Star Rail is not available on console. HoYoverse has stated that Honkai Star Rail will only be coming to Android, iOS, and PC. However, there is still hope for the future. Genshin Impact launched on PlayStation 4 and eventually came to PlayStation 5. Due to the hype surrounding Honkai Star Rail, the game will likely receive some kind of console support in the future. 

That being said, don't expect Honkai Star Rail to be coming to Xbox or Nintendo Switch anytime soon. Genshin Impact is currently in development for Nintendo Switch, but there is still no word on how long that is taking. Additionally, there has been no mention that Genshin Impact will ever come to an Xbox console, so the likelihood that Honkai Star Rail will do so first is very slim. 

When Will Honkai Star Rail Come To Console? - Speculation

We can comfortably predict when Honkai Star Rail will come to home consoles based on the time it took Genshin Impact to do the same. Genshin Impact was released on PC, Android, iOS, and PlayStation 4 at launch and then came to PlayStation 5 a year later. Considering there is currently no news of Honkai Star Rail coming to consoles, the earliest we can predict to see Honkai Star Rail on console would be in 2024. 

This would be the earliest Honkai Star Rail will likely come to PlayStation consoles. If you are holding out to play Honkai Star Rail on your Nintendo Switch, you may have to wait until 2025 or even later. Alternatively, if you are only interested in playing Honkai Star Rail with a controller, the game will have native controller support on PC. However, unlike Genshin Impact, the turn-based style of Honkai Star Rail does not necessarily lend itself to needing a controller.
