Does Honkai: Star Rail closed beta progress carry over?

With the closed beta of Honkai: Star Rail out now, Trailblazers are jumping into this new strategy, turn-based RPG from Genshin Impact developer, miHoYo. With players travelling to Jarilo-VI and levelling up their unique characters, exploring this vast new universe, there are some concerns. Specifically, if Honkai: Star Rail closed beta progress will carry over, or if everything will get deleted once this beta period ends.

Does Honkai: Star Rail beta progress carry over?

At the time of writing, Honkai: Star Rail is in its very first closed beta. Due to this nature, we've got some bad news for players who are hoping all their efforts will remain intact.

According to developer miHoYo's FAQ about the beta, this is the "first small-scale data-wipe closed beta".

Essentially, this means players' characters and any game account progress will be deleted after the closed beta comes to an end.

There might be a possibility that future beta progress could carry over to another beta test, so we will let you know if this does happen.

At the time of writing, there is no exact date for the Honkai: Star Rail closed beta to end. For now, all you can do is be happy you've been selected as one of the first Trailblazers, and enjoy the experience.

While some players might be disappointed the closed beta progress they've made in Honkai: Star Rail doesn't carry over, this is to be expected.
