What Is Speed Breakpoint In Honkai Star Rail? Explained

Honkai Star Rail's combat is deceptively simple. On the surface, it is quite easy to pick up and understand. With only two abilities to select for each character, along with a basic attack, compared to other RPGs, Honkai Star Rail lacks a lot of the customization found in titles like Xenoblade, Persona, or Pokémon.

However, those who stick with the game will discover that resting below the surface is a very rich and deep combat system that must be understood.

Each character will take a turn in Honkai Star Rail based on their overall Speed stat. The higher a character's speed, the more frequently they will take their turn. However, you may have heard the term Speed Breakpoint before and are wondering what it means.

So, if you are curious to learn more, we have the answers you need. This article will explain everything you need to know about Speed Breakpoints in Honkai Star Rail.

As mentioned, Speed is an all-encompassing stat in Honkai Star Rail. A character's place in the turn order and how quickly it takes them to return to the active position after taking their turn is all determined by Speed.

Honkai Star Rail calculates turn order based on a character's speed and their place in the turn order. Typically, characters who have taken an action, be it an attack or otherwise, will be sent to the back of the line and will have to wait until every other character has taken an action before they can retake their turn.

However, Speed Breakpoints refer to speed levels where characters can cut in front of another character because they are so fast. This allows them to take multiple turns in a single rotation.

For this reason, it is highly recommended to focus on the Speed stat above all else for certain characters. Not all characters benefit from this, however, as focusing too much on Speed may detract from a character's overall damage. Additionally, it is essential to speed-tune your team for the greatest benefit. Players will want their buffers to go first to increase the party's damage before their damage dealers move, for example.

Typically, Harmony Path characters like Bronya and Tingyun will want to take as many turns as possible.

And that's everything you need to know about Speed Breakpoints in Honkai Star Rail.
