Elitists United cancelled after Thorin and Veteran spat

The popular European League of Legends podcast is cancelled after public fallout between co-hosts Duncan “Thorin” Shields and Michael “Veteran” Archer.
Elitists United cancelled after Thorin and Veteran spat

After tweeting out screenshots of DMs between himself and Thorin, Veteran announced: “Elitists United is cancelled”.

The fallout seems to have been sparked by Veteran’s vocal criticism of Jack “Kayys” Kayser in the wake of his recent LEC suspension and subsequent firing by Origen, with whom he was working as an Analyst.

Both hosts are known for their forceful personalities and willingness to engage in controversy, with Thorin in particular at the heart of a number of recent feuds. The publicly shared screenshots highlight deeper issues between the two, with Thorin bringing up previous grievances with Veteran, notably allegations by the latter of Thorin being “a racist.” Either way, the end result is the end of Elitists United.

It’s not the first time Thorin has ended a podcast after disagreements with a co-host, with his talk-show Listen Loco cancelled due to an “unhealthy relationship” between himself and Choi “Locodoco” Yoon-seop. It must be noted, however, that this split was largely amicable, and indeed the resulting drama was played for effect:

For all the airing of public grievances, perhaps the most damning result of the schism between Thorin and Veteran is the loss of a critically well-regarded podcast, who’s guest list included a great many of the elite of the European LoL scene. It remains to be seen whether another podcast or any alternative format, will step into the content void Elitists United leaves behind.
