League of Legends Free Champion Rotation This Week (31 January 2023)

If you're looking to try out a new main, we've got you covered. Check out the list of this week's free rotation of champions!
League of Legends Free Champion Rotation This Week (31 January 2023)

League of Legends may be free-to-play, but unlike Dota 2, which gives players access to every character from the start of the game, League of Legends players will have to slowly build up their Champion pool using Blue Essence (or Riot Points).

Even then, it can take hours to acquire every Champion, especially when you consider players will likely be spending Blue Essence on name changes, Mastery upgrades, and more.

Thankfully, every week a selection of Champions is available to all players for absolutely free! This allows players to get a feel for a Champion before investing their hard-earned Blue Essence in purchasing them.

It should be noted that these free Champions are not available in Ranked. Only in casual game modes and modes like Aram can these weekly rotating Champions be used.

So, without further ado, let's take a look at this week's list of 16 rotating Champions.

Reminder - The League of Legends Free Champions rotate again next week on 7 February.

Who Will Be On The Next Weekly Rotation

Who are you looking forward to hitting the free Champion rotation? (Picture: Riot Games)

There is no definitive reason as to why Champions are selected for the free weekly rotation. A steady mix of Fighters, Mages, and Tanks is always chosen. All we know is that new Champions are added to the free Champion rotation on the third week after their release. Aside from this, there is no way of predicting who will be next in the rotation.

However, there have been times in the past when important events in Riot Games' history altered the free champion pool. For example, after the release of Arcane, Caitlyn, Ekko, Heimerdinger, Jinx, Vi, and Viktor, were all available for free on top of the free Champion rotation of 16 (making there 22 available free Champions at that time).

So, it is always wise to keep your eyes peeled for special events coming up in the world of League of Legends and Riot Games if you want a shot at predicting who might be next in the free Champion rotation.

And that's all. For more on the game, check our section dedicated to League of Legends news, guides, updates, tips, and more.
