League Of Legends season 10 kicks off this week

Riot Games has announced the start date for the 2020 season of League Of Legends, ahead of new champion Sett.

Posting two images on Twitter, the developer confirmed the next season of League Of Legends will begin on Friday 10 January.

Along with a picture confirming the date, Riot posted another image which features character Urgot using his chains, which reads: “In 5 days, we break them.”

The new season will commence with a soft reset for ranked, with new ranks based on performances in the pre-season along with Season 10 placement matches.

Like in season nine, players will get a provisional rank after your first match of the new season. After eight matches, your rank will become visible.

Ahead of the new season, League Of Legends will receive an update patch on 8 January which introduces new champion Sett along with some skins.

Sett is described as an “Ionian juggernaut that thrives at the centre of a brawl” who uses a variety of offensive moves with his fists.

The new champion will be released on 8 January. League Of Legends season 10 begins on Friday 10 January.
