Riot Announces LoL Rising Stars, A Standalone Women's Tournament

In order to promote diversity, Riot Games has announced a new standalone League of Legends tournament for women, Rising Stars, in collaboration with GGTech and NUEL. The tournament will be held online on 26th and 27th November, and players over 16 years of age can participate in it.

It features a prize pool of £3,000 and is open to all European players; however, it primarily focuses on the Northern European region, including the UK, the Republic of Ireland, and the Nordics. The registrations are open till 22nd November, and if you want to showcase your skill, you can register your team here

Will Attwood, Competitive Experiences Manager, Northern Europe at Riot Games, said: "Riot Games is committed to creating more opportunities for women gamers; Game Changers has been a huge success for VALORANT and will continue to expand into other games. Rising Stars, as a local, standalone tournament, is another example of the work that we and our partners can do to promote diversity and inclusion in the esports community. The fact that we're also able to support students taking their first professional steps in the industry is the cherry on top."

Rising Stars will be broadcast live on the official Twitch channel of NUEL and produced at the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies in Nottingham.
