Tarkov Lighthouse Map Overhaul Set for September 8

Tactical mountain road, armored transport, fortified chalet and tunnel in a revamped coastal extraction map

Escape from Tarkov’s Lighthouse map is set for a major overhaul on September 8. Battlestate Games has confirmed the update will bring the most comprehensive changes Lighthouse has received since its release, addressing several long-standing map concerns with new points of interest, relocated Rogues and additional traversal options.

Nikita Buyanov confirmed the timing on social media. The update details were also outlined by Insider Gaming.

Lighthouse Update: What’s Changing

The overhaul changes the map’s layout, player movement options and Rogue placement. Checkpoints, adjusted spawn areas and new locations are among the additions planned for Lighthouse.

Map and Traversal Changes

  • Checkpoints are being added along the long road to provide cover from the mountainous areas beside it.
  • PMC spawn points are being adjusted, with additional terrain and foliage intended to provide more cover.
  • A BTR driver will run along the main road to and from the Water Treatment Plant, adding another way to move around the map.
  • A new bunker-like tunnel system through the mountainside will serve as a point of interest.
  • Additional points of interest are also being added.

Rogue Changes

  • Rogues from the Water Treatment Plant are moving to the chalet area, which is becoming a fortified location.
  • Rogues will no longer distinguish between USEC and BEAR PMCs, making both factions targets.
  • The workshop territory and the spaces between it are expected to become more accessible for looting and tactical maneuvers.

Across the update, Lighthouse will receive changes to spawns, cover, traversal and major combat areas. The new BTR route, mountainside tunnel system and fortified chalet location are among the key additions arriving with the September 8 patch.
