Doctor Strange in the Multiverse hits Disney+ in June

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will finally be making its Disney+ debut in June, letting everyone take a trip down the multiverse again. The movie was released this year on 6th May, and it was widely expected that Marvel and Disney would bring the film to the streaming platform.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was a sequel to the 2016 Doctor Strange film and saw our sorcerer supreme hopping across multiverses to stop Scarlet Witch. Here's all you need to know about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness coming to Disney+.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Release date

In a Twitter post, Disney confirmed that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness would be available to stream on Disney+ from 22nd June 2022. The films saw the return of Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen as Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch, respectively.

The movie is the 28th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from Evil Dead director Sam Raimi, marking his MCU debut. The film sees Doctor Strange (Cumberbatch) joining hands with America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), a mysterious teenage girl with the power to hop across different multiverses to save countless other worlds from being destroyed. 

Along the way, Strange turns to Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, for help but little does he know that she is the one who sees America’s powers as a means to get her children. The movie also sees Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Professor Charles Xavier. 

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness even featured the Illuminati, a secret society group of superheroes who work behind the scenes to safeguard the planet from world-ending foes. While most of the audience might have already watched the movie, it's still great to see the film coming to Disney+.

Almost every Marvel movie or property has seen its launch on the streaming platform in one way or another, and it's no surprise that the studio is giving Doctor Strange 2 the same treatment.

This won't be the only Marvel property making its debut on the streaming platform. Ms. Marvel, a new Disney+ exclusive limited series, will be dropping on the platform on 8th June 2022 and will introduce fans to Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel.
