Prominent board game company, CMON, announced the launch date of their Kickstarter campaign for their latest project, Marvel United: Multiverse. Their latest board game is a collaboration with Spin Master Games, which sees the next Marvel United season, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), venturing into the Multiverse.
The company revealed what players could expect from the third season in a brand new trailer, which sees some familiar Heroes returning and new features and cards arriving. The game’s designer Andrea Chiarvesio explained in a recent developer blog post other features to anticipate ahead of the Kickstarter launch on 18th January 2023.
CMON, to date, has had two previous successful Kickstarter campaigns for Marvel United in March 2020 and Marvel United: X-Men in May 2021, with the subsequent season releasing the First Class expansion. With over $8,7 million donated to the first Marvel United tabletop games, the latest Kickstarter will undoubtedly be a resounding success for CMON and Spin Master Games.
Thus far, Captain Carter, Cosmic Ghost Rider, Loki, Doctor Doom, Ironheart, Black Panther, and Spider-Man 2099 were announced as characters joining the Multiversal board game in the official trailer. Players will control their chosen Hero as they work alongside other players in an epic Multiverse clash against a formidable foe.
According to Chiarvesio, the company listened to players’ requests when approaching the game’s development as many wanted their favorite Marvel Heroes “to feel more unique.” After much consideration during the design process, adding Equipment Cards to Heroes was one of its solutions, functioning similarly to Trading Cards from the First Class expansion set.
“We could finally address exactly what players were asking for. Many heroes in this season will come with their own Equipment cards and start the game with these.”
Marvel United: Multiverse will also introduce a Solo Mode where you can venture off in a single-player experience with a singular Hero facing off against the villain. For this gameplay mode, a Support deck mechanic will be introduced; however, details will be revealed later.
