The upcoming remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, marks a return to the Metal Gear franchise for the first time since Metal Gear Survive in 2018. It revisits the 2004 release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, an entry set in 1964 and, chronologically, is the first game in the series.
At Tokyo Game Show this year, during the Xbox broadcast, Konami gave fans another look at the upcoming remake in a brand new trailer. This time, we see more from the Virtuous Mission, and get our first look at EVA. You can check out the IGN trailer, below:
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was announced for on May 24, 2023 for the PlayStation 5 at Sony's 2023 PlayStation Showcase. However, the game is also expected to launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The remake has been developed by Konami's internal studio, Konami Digital Entertainment, under the watchful eyes of with Metal Gear Survive producer Noriaki Okamura and Metal Gear Solid V creative producer Yuji Korekado. The choice to remake Snake Eater over the other entries in the franchise was supposedly down to it being the chronological entry to the series, particularly with the game's origin story for Big Boss. Series creator, Hideo Kojima, is not involved in the remake.
