MineDraft Showdown ft. Minecraft: Schedule, teams, format, prize pool, more

Twitch Rivals brings together teams of Minecraft content creator from across Europe to compete in a series of team deathmatch tournaments in the hopes to be crowned the best Minecraft PvPers in the region. Here is everything you need to know.

Twitch Rivals is bringing another Minecraft tournament to our screens, this time the MineDraft Showdown which will pit Europe's biggest and best Minecraft content creators against each other in a team deathmatch tournament.

The event will take place in two parts. First, local events held for German, France, UK and Spain will determine the best teams from those locales, the best two teams from each will earn a place in the grand finals, with the winner of that crowned the best Minecraft PvPers in the region.

Twitch Rivals' MineDraft Showdown - schedule

The MineDraft Showdown starts on the 4th May with the Germany-lanuage tournament and ends on the 8th of June with the grand finals.

The full schedule is:

  • 4th May: DACH MineDraft Showdown ft. Minecraft
  • 12th May: UK MineDraft Showdown ft. Minecraft
  • 18th May: MineDraft Showdown avec Minecraft
  • 8th June: MineDraft Showdown FINALS ft. Minecraft

Each event starts at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 pm BST.

Format

Teams will be decided by a draft, made in the hours before the start of the regional tournaments. Teams will stay the same throughout regionals and if qualified, the grand finals.

The game mode is Team Deathmatch, players will select a class from either, Swordsman, Archer, Healer, and Flamemaster. Loadouts for each class get stronger as the tournament progresses.

  • Group stage
    • 2 RR groups of 4, randomly decided by the server.
    • Best of 5
    • Top-2 in each group advance to the Championship Bracket
    • Bottom-2 in each group advance to the Consolation Bracket
    • Tiebreakers:
        1. Game wins in games between tied teams
        1. Game win-loss differential
        1. If still tied, then play a best of 1 tiebreaker RR between tied teams. Repeat until no longer tied.
  • Playoffs
    • Best of 5
 

Prizing

There is a total of US$125k up for grabs, each regional has US$30k and the grand finals boasts a US$35k prize pool.

How to watch Twitch Rivals' MineDraft Showdown

Because it is a Twitch Rivals event all competitors will be broadcasting their POVs from their channels, so you can easily follow your favourite Minecraft creators throughout the event.
