MLB The Show 24 Storylines is officially due to expand, and the next iconic baseball story taking the spotlight is that of Derek Jeter. While last year the arrival of Storylines solely featured the Negro Leagues, the series is now branching out to utilize the same game mode to bring other parts of baseball history to life. It's exciting new for New York Yankees fans, and MLB The Show 24 is taking a natural step forward for this franchise.

The debut of Storylines as a game mode focused entirely on the untold stories of the Negro Leagues with eight different players in last year's game that had extensive documentary footage mixed with recreating their most iconic moments. With the foundation in place, MLB The Show 24 is bringing back their Negro Leagues spotlight while also turning some attention towards the legendary Derek Jeter.

Fortunately, the inclusion won't affect how much they've got for the Negro Leagues this time around. While last year's game only had 8 players with storylines, there will be 10 for the MLB The Show 24 Negro Leagues storylines after two post-launch content updates are released.

It looks like they're doing the same delayed rollout for Derek Jeter, as the initial launch will focus on his most career defining moments from the 1995 to 2000 seasons. Sony San Diego said there's more to come, so we'll likely see new Storylines for Jeter added in the weeks and months after MLB The Show 24 has arrived.

While the Negro Leagues updates have been described as arriving just a few weeks after launch, they may wait longer for the Derek Jeter content as he'll definitely have different Diamond Dynasty cards tied to various eras of his career as rewards for finishing those Storylines. As a result, they might wait to time each release with new Diamond Dynasty seasons.
