Mongraal Joins Fortnite’s Icon Series: Cup Format, Rewards & Leaderboard

Competitive Fortnite duos players in intense Reload mode combat with vibrant effects and dynamic action

Mongraal is officially joining Fortnite’s Icon Series, and his debut Icon Cup is already one of the most competitive grassroots events of the season – over 41,175 teams dropped in for Session 1 alone, all chasing early access to his cosmetic bundle before it ever touches the Item Shop.

When and How to Compete in the Mongraal Icon Cup

The Mongraal Icon Cup runs across June 27–28, 2026, with the NA Central session kicking off at 7:00 PM and running until 9:30 PM CT. The format is Duos Reload, meaning you and your partner will be dropping into Fortnite’s faster-paced respawn playlist for the duration of the cup. To jump in, head to the Compete tab in-game when the event goes live and register your duo from there – no sign-up form, no third-party bracket.

The tournament uses a Power Ranking scoring system, with tiebreakers resolved in order by Victory Royales, then average eliminations, then average placement, then average time alive. Every point counts when the margins are this tight.

  • Victory Royale: +10 points
  • Top 2: +8 points
  • Top 3: +6 points
  • Top 4–12: +4 points each
  • Eliminations: +1 per elim, capped at 10 per match

What You Can Win

This is where it gets genuinely interesting. You don’t have to finish top of the leaderboard to walk away with something – hitting just 8 tournament points unlocks the Clovert Ops Spray and the GGs Bro! Icon Emote for free. Place within the top percentage for your region and you’re looking at the full Mongraal cosmetic set: the Mongraal outfit, Alien Onesie style, custom back bling, The Harvester pickaxe, Lucky Clover pickaxe, Shing Shing Shing emote, and the Clover Crush wrap.

A second placement bracket distributes the Elite Mongraal skin and matching Counter back bling – effectively two Icon outfit variants gated behind different competitive tiers. Both Mongraal outfit variants will eventually arrive in the regular Item Shop for V-Bucks, though Epic hasn’t confirmed a date yet, so the Cup remains the fastest way in.

Session 1 Leaderboard Results

Muz (XSET) and Shadow took first place in Session 1 with an impressive 482 points across 11 matches – five wins, 172 total eliminations, and a 28.67 K/D ratio. It was a one-point nail-biter at the top: decyyfishy and Mason Fear finished second on 481 points despite matching Muz and Shadow’s five wins across just 10 matches. SparX (Void Esports) and Seven Witness rounded out the podium in third with 466 points from nine matches.

Position Team Points Wins Avg Elims
1st Muz (XSET) + Shadow 482 5 15.64
2nd decyyfishy + Mason Fear 481 5 11.00
3rd SparX (Void Esports) + Seven Witness 466 3 8.00

The Reload format clearly rewards aggression – Muz and Shadow racked up 30 and 32 eliminations in two of their five winning matches, a stat line that underlines how the respawn-heavy playlist shifts the meta toward fragging out rather than playing conservative macro.

You can track live leaderboard standings and full match-by-match breakdowns through Fortnite Tracker’s Mongraal Icon Cup event page, while official broadcasts and creator co-streams are available via the Watch section of Fortnite’s competitive hub.

Session 2 is still to come, so if you haven’t hit your point threshold yet, there’s still time to secure those Mongraal cosmetics before the Cup closes out.
