Monster Hunter Rise To Release On PlayStation, Xbox & Game Pass

The sixth entry to the popular Monster Hunter RPG game series by Capcom, Monster Hunter Rise, is finally headed to consoles!

According to a Twitter post on 2 December 2022, the "gates to Kamura are opening," with Monster Hunter Rise expanding to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4|5, and Game Pass on 20 January 2023. To put the cherry on top, the acclaimed Sunbreak expansion, initially released in June 2022, will also roll out to console platforms, albeit later in Spring next year.

Since its release in March 2021, Monster Hunter Rise has been a Nintendo-exclusive game title, later expanding to Windows PC in January this year. Followingly, the Capcom RPG has achieved widespread applause, boasting a plethora of monsters and exciting features and content additions, including new weapons, Wirebugs, and various new gameplay mechanics.

That said, Hunters on current-gen consoles, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, can look forward to playing Monster Hunter Rise at 4K resolution up to 60 fps or 1080p up to 120 fps. "Both platforms also support 3D audio for an even more immersive hunting experience. If that's not enough, Adaptive Trigger support for the PS5™ DualSense controller adds additional feedback when using Gunner weapons or blocking with a shield."

As for Game Pass subscribers, Monster Hunter Rise will be accessible at no additional cost. In addition, the expansion will ship "with all free updates to Version 10," meaning Xbox and PlayStation players can enjoy all the new monsters and quests once it releases for consoles in Spring 2023. The Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion will also come with a new main story, new monsters, and Master Rank challenges to keep Hunters busy.

Monster Hunter Rise will release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4|5, and Game Pass on 20 January 2023. The game is available for pre-order starting at $39.99 on these platforms.
