Mortal Kombat 1 Omni Man Release Date Window, Leaks and News

With the launch of Mortal Kombat 1 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch, fans have been eager to get their hands on even more characters. Thankfully, NetherRealm Studios are set to provide, with the arrival of new DLC characters. So far, two popular characters are confirmed to be on the way: Omni Man and Homelander. 

Omni Man received a spike in popularity following the Invincible animated TV series, where he was voiced by J.K. Simmons. At San Diego Comic Con, Mortal Kombat 1 director Ed Boon confirmed that Simmons would be returning to voice the character in-game, calling it "as authentic as it can be."

So when is Omni Man set to arrive in Mortal Kombat 1? When can we expect to see the first batch of DLC characters drop? Here's what we know so far.

When Does Omni Man Come To Mortal Kombat 1?

According to Ed Boon, Omni Man will be the first DLC character to be released for Mortal Kombat 1. At San Diego Comic Con, Boon announced, "Omni-Man is going to be joining the cast of Mortal Kombat 1. He's actually the first [DLC character] to be released."

As for when we can expect Omni Man to make his appearance, Twitter user @thethiny (known for their MK leaks and news) claims that players could expect more information on Omni Man to release on October 12, 2023. This news was based off of a Tweet from Ed Boon, in which the letters NYCC (standing for New York Comic Con) were spelled out. User @thethiny said, "Ed said NYCC in his tweet, which is October 12. And we know omniman is first DLC." 

Sadly, it looks like we won't be seeing any gameplay for Omni Man at New York Comic Con. Ed Boon posted a Tweet on October 1 stating "OmniMan game play trailer will not be at New York ComicCon." However, this doesn't rule out a cinematic trailer. 

Mortal Kombat 1 First DLC Release Date

Looking at the gap between the release of previous Mortal Kombat games and each one's first DLC, it seems that the first batch of DLC content tends to drop roughly a month after release. This would line-up with the speculated date for Omni Man, who has been confirmed to be the first DLC character to head to MK1. 

Mortal Kombat 1 launched on September 19, 2023. If @thethiny's claims are to be believed, an October release date for the first DLC batch seems more likely. For Mortal Kombat 11, which launched in April 2019, the first Kombat Pack DLC was available a month later in May, 2019.

When Is The Omni Man Kombat Kast?

The Kombat Kast is a special stream where NetherRealm reveal and discuss new characters heading to Mortal Kombat. With Omni Man soon to arrive, there's a good chance that a special Omni Man Kombat Kast could be on the way.

Unfortunately, without a release date, it's unclear exactly when a Kombat Kast for Omni Man could be broadcast. If we receive a cinematic trailer on October 12, as part of New York Comic Con, then we could learn more about when to expect the Omni Man Kombat Kast.
