Mortal Kombat 11 has announced new story DLC titled Aftermath set to arrive on 26th May.

After teasing an incoming announcement, NetherRealm has revealed additional DLC picking up from events in Mortal Kombat 11's story mode, which features characters old and new.

Set to arrive on 26th May, Aftermath features past Mortal Kombat characters Fujin and Sheeva, along with the surprise inclusion of Robocop (with original Peter Weller's voice) as a guest character.

You can check out the bonkers trailer below.

One of the biggest strengths of Mortal Kombat 11 was its story mode, so it's great to see NetherRealm using it as an avenue to deliver new fighters over the traditional character DLC packs for fighting games.

A synopsis for the DLC reads: “This new entry expands the critically acclaimed story campaign of Mortal Kombat 11 with an all-new cinematic narrative centered around trust and deceit.

“Joining the fight will be Mortal Kombat alumni, Fujin and Sheeva, and guest character, Robocop, making his series debut!”

The Aftermath expansion comes with the new cinematic story, the three additional characters Fujin, Sheeva and Robocop, along with three new skin packs.

There will also be a free update to coincide with Aftermath with new stage fatalities, the return of friendships and new stages.

Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has even teased some of the new friendships, including Scorpion cuddling a giant teddy bear and Sub-Zero crashing in with an ice cream truck.

Pretty adorable.

This follows the first Kombat Pack, consisting of six DLC characters Spawn, The Joker, Nightwolf, Terminator T-800, Sindel and Shang Tsung.

Mortal Kombat: Aftermath launches on 26th May for £34.99. It can be purchased with the previous Kombat Pack for £39.99, while those who have yet to buy Mortal Kombat 11 can buy everything in the Aftermath Kollection for £49.99.
