When Does MultiVersus Season 1 And Morty Release?

The exciting new free-to-play platform fighting game was unleashed by developer Player First Games and publisher WB Games on 26th July 2022 in its Open Beta state

MultiVersus Season 1 & Morty Delayed - New Release Date?

When MultiVersus was released into Open Beta on 26th July 2022 for PC and consoles, the Preseason Battle Pass also went live. At the time, the developers noted the Preseason would end on 8th August, followed by a full MultiVersus Season 1 Battle Pass release starting 9th August 2022.

In the early hours of the morning on 4th August 2022, the developers took to Twitter to thank everyone for playing MultiVersus in its Open Beta state.

Then, the developers announced the delay of MultiVersus Season 1 and Morty from Rick and Morty, as per the image below.

Player First Games explains: "We want to let everyone know that we are delaying the start of Season 1 & the release of Morty to a later date. We know this might be disappointing for some and want to assure our Community that we are dedicated to delivering new and exciting content that delights players."

MultiVersus developer Player First Games' co-founder Tony Huynh, noted on Twitter that: "I’m very unhappy that we disappointed players." and further explained that they are "unaffected by the Discovery/Warner Bros. merger."

So what is the new MultiVersus Season 1 release date, and when will we see Morty enter the free-to-play platform fighter? The developers will let fans know the exact timing as soon as possible and did not reveal a new release date window. 

Lastly, the developers said they "look forward to unveiling Season 1 very soon!" and thanked fans for their patience and enthusiasm. This could mean that the MultiVersus Season 1 release isn't all that far off, and we believe there will be a full Season 1 reveal sometime in August 2022.

Note that Morty was supposed to release on 9th August 2022, with Rick arriving later in Season 1.
