The Modern Warfare 4 beta dates are confirmed, with early access kicking off on August 21 and an open beta following a week later – giving every Call of Duty player a shot at the next entry in the franchise before launch.
According to Insider Gaming, the beta runs across two separate four-day windows. The first weekend is early access only, while the second is open to all. As with previous years, the beta is designed to let players get hands-on with multiplayer maps and modes while the developers stress test the servers – no single-player content will be available.

Modern Warfare 4 Beta Schedule
| Beta | Start Date | End Date |
|---|---|---|
| Early Access Beta | August 21 | August 25 |
| Open Beta | August 28 | September 1 |
What Time Does the MW4 Beta Start?
Exact timings for both MW4 beta weekends are yet to be announced, with more details set to be revealed by Activision imminently. The early access beta is set to begin immediately after the conclusion of the Call of Duty NEXT showcase in August, which will also offer a deeper look at what MW4 has in store – though timings for that event are still to be announced.
For reference, last year’s Black Ops 7 beta opened at 10 AM PT, and the COD NEXT showcase ran from 9 AM PT – so a slightly later start for the MW4 early access window is possible. We’ll add all the official timings when they are announced.
The Call of Duty NEXT showcase will lift the lid further on what to expect from the next generation of the franchise, and it should answer plenty of the bigger questions around what MW4 is actually bringing to the table this year.
