Nintendo

The Nintendo Switch is one of the best-selling consoles in history. It has been out for a couple of years now with games that have hit the top of the charts of best-selling titles. But there is not just the Nintendo Switch available. Players can also purchase the Nintendo Switch Lite or the Nintendo Switch OLED for whatever suits their needs.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy the Nintendo Switch while players are waiting for the eventual release of the Nintendo Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch Lite, for example, is designed to be exclusively a handheld device. But is it possible to connect your Nintendo Switch Lite to a television? Here, we will discuss that and help you do so.

How To Connect The Nintendo Switch Lite To A TV

When you buy a Nintendo Switch Lite, you will have a handheld that is all in one piece. The regular Nintendo Switch comes in multiple parts including a dock and two Joycons. The Nintendo Switch Lite is a single piece designed just to be handheld. But there are ways to connect your Nintendo Switch Lite to a television screen.

You will need to buy a variety of third-party cables to connect your Nintendo Switch Lite to a TV. You need a cable that goes from USB-C to a HDMI port. There are no cables that come with a Nintendo Switch Lite that will connect it to a television. You will need to buy these cables from Amazon or other online retailers that carry such cables.

Does The Nintendo Switch Lite Work Well With A TV?

If you manage to get the correct cables to connect your Nintendo Switch Lite to a different screen, you may see that it is not worth it. From what has been said by others who have done it, the Nintendo Switch Lite is very laggy on a different screen. The picture quality of the games will also decrease as well.

There is also the fact that you cannot take off the Joycons of a Nintendo Switch Lite so you will have to buy separate Joycons or a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. Overall, the hassle you have to go through to connect your Switch Lite to a different screen is not worth the results. If you want to play Switch games on your TV, you are better off getting a Nintendo Switch or a Switch OLED.
