From Detective Pikachu to The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Nintendo has been dipping its toes into the movie world with great success. With how long the company has been around, it was only a matter of time before their popular franchises would eventually make their way to the big screen.

After The Super Mario Bros. Movie, many were wondering what would be the next big movie from Nintendo. There were some people that were hoping that the next Nintendo movie would be a Metroid movie but that is not the case. Instead, Nintendo announced they are working on a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie.

In a recent Tweet on the Nintendo account, Shigeru Miyamoto announced that he has been working on a live-action The Legend of Zelda Movie. On top of that, Miyamoto said that he has been working on this movie for many years now. The announcement included that he was working on this movie with Avi Arad.

Avi Arad has worked on movies like The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse, and Uncharted. Other than the announcement that the movie is in production with Avi, there are no details about The Legend of Zelda movie. There is no announcement on which Zelda game it will be based on or it will be something completely original. Regardless, fans are excited about this announcement.
