Team Dignitas Announces An Overwatch Team
Another big name decides to take a stab at the burgeoning Overwatch eSports scene as Team Dignitas has announced that it has signed Creation eSports onto its roster. While there are already a number of big name eSports teams taking on Overwatch, Dignitas is one of those names in eSports that play a considerable role in the appeal of particular games. Many other teams will be watching Dignitas - alongside the likes of Fnatic, Team Liquid and Cloud9 - to find out just how viable Blizzard's FPS will turn out. In the announcement, Team Dignitas drew attention to the ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown, the finals of which are happening at Gamescom this week. With a prize pool of $100,000 on the line, this is a tactical hire for Dignitas, who now has minimal work for potential big win. The EU squad will go on to compete in further Overwatch tournaments, though there aren't so many Premier tournaments right now. Here is Team Dignitas new Overwatch squad:
  • Seb 'numlocked' Barton - Tank
  • Jiri 'LiNkz' Masalin - Flex
  • Artur 'art1er' Bischof - DPS
  • Jose Antonio 'BromaS' Ramos Gonzales - DPS
  • Joshua 'ToxikeN' Campos - Support
  • Rasmus 'Draceus' Waern - Support

Of the transition over to Team Dignitas, Numlocked said: "We're overjoyed to be joining Team Dignitas at a time where both the organisation and the game are booming. "It's an honour to be joining an organisation as world renowned as Team Dignitas and we look forward to representing them at Gamescom, E-League and many more tournaments to come." Team Dignitas also released a neat little video to help celebrate the news.

Team Dignitas hires Creation eSports for its first Overwatch team

There's still a lot of work required before Overwatch fully secures itself as a premier eSport, but publishers and teams alike are trying their damnedest to make it happen. Blizzard has announced a World Cup, for example, while Shaq's NRG Gaming has hired the roster that had been playing for Luminosity.
