Developer Singularity 6 has released their debut game, the cozy MMO Palia, for Nintendo Switch on 14th December 2023. The initial announcement was first confirmed in a developer post on 21st June 2023; however, at the time, the developer couldn’t confirm a release until a gameplay trailer was revealed at The Game Awards 2023.

New players can begin their journey by creating a Palia account before linking it to their Nintendo Switch while existing players can move right ahead and link their accounts. Additionally, the developer has welcomed all players with limited-time Account Linking Rewards to celebrate the occasion, which can be claimed now, and players won't require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play.

It has been nearly four months since the game was first released in Closed Beta before moving to Open Beta shortly afterward. Since then, the developer has released multiple patch updates to improve the game’s performance and stability while adding much-needed optimizations and addressing vital bugs hampering players’ experiences.

According to Singularity 6’s co-founder and Game Director Aidan Karabaich, “When we set out to create Palia, our goal was to bring a new standard of play to the community sim genre, and we’re incredibly proud of the community that has rallied behind our vision for the game."

Launching on Nintendo Switch is a significant milestone for Palia’s development, and we’re thrilled to welcome a whole new audience into Palia’s friendly and welcoming community. We plan to continue evolving the cozy community sim genre with Palia for years to come.

This includes the release of the Temple of the Gales, more Winterlights Festival quests, and cosmetics that can be found from Rummage Piles and purchased from the Winterlights Store.

Furthermore, the developer has plans to add more localization and servers for PC, Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch in future patch updates. We have a dedicated page here for the latest news, updates, and guide content for Palia, covering every perspective of the cozy MMO, from quests to understanding gameplay mechanics and features to hidden content that players have yet to discover.

This includes the introduction quest, Welcome To Palia, to help new players settle in the world of Palia and get them started in the best way possible. They can read our PC Beta review for Palia, which we gushed on its unique and refreshing approach to the MMO genre, which has been well-supported since the Open Beta release.

For all new and existing players, welcome home, Palians!

Palia is currently available in Open Beta for PC and Epic Games Store, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is available for the Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
