Can You Change Your Character Name & Nickname In Palia

Singularity 6 is launching Closed Beta testing for their cozy MMO, Palia, as invited players begin joining the servers. At the start of their gameplay experience is the game's unique Character Customization menu, where they design their character's appearance before bestowing a name for your character.

This seemingly minor detail may be the most important one to make as this is what will define your character, but can you change your name? We've investigated whether players can change their name and nickname in Palia.

Will You Be Able To Change Your Name And Nickname In Palia?

Before starting your Palian adventures in-game, you'll be taken to the Character Customization menu to create your in-game character. Be note that once you've made the preferred selections, the ability to change your appearance will be locked in as the developer has noted to add a functionality in the future.

You will be taken to another screen where you can give your character their full name and a nickname the Villagers can call you by. Once inputting your character's name and nickname, players wonder if you will have another chance to change it if it doesn't fit the character.

Sadly, players cannot change their character name or nickname beyond the Character Customization menu. Additionally, it doesn't appear that the developer will want to add functionality to allow players to change their name or nickname.

Players must be sure of their character's name and nickname before making their final decision and starting their adventures in-game. However, the developer has stated on their Registration and Login FAQ support page that they won't be "providing Character name changes outside of specific circumstances where names need to be changed due to breaking the Community Guidelines."

Nevertheless, players can change their Palia Account name, which they need to sign into their account before making this change. Once you have access to the Palia Accounts portal, under Account Management, you can change your account name and settings, like your email address and account password.

Remember, while in the Palia Accounts portal, you can redeem or copy the Refer-A-Friend program code and join the game's Discord server. Lastly, you can also download the game's launcher, which you'll need a Closed Beta Access Code to access or wait for the Open Beta to download and install.
