Payday 3: Londoners Follow The Money To Win A Month's Salary

A Payday 3 challenge saw Londoners take their chance at winning a "month's average salary."
Payday 3: Londoners Follow The Money To Win A Month's Salary

Payday can never come soon enough. In fact, many of us are left feeling a little strapped for cash well before the working month comes to an end. Between bills, rent, food, and everything else, a huge chunk of the average worker's salary is eaten up in no time.

So perhaps its no surprise to learn that of 2,000 employed adults polled in the UK, 37% admit that they'd gladly rob a bank if they could get away with it. So, with this knowledge well in-hand, Payday 3 publishers PLAION set up a challenge in the London, UK where the public had the chance to win themselves a "month's average salary."

Over 2000 Payday 3-themed dollar bills were stuck to a specially branded van. All members of the public had to do was "follow the money" to a special location. In under 10 minutes, the notes were stripped from the van and some were lucky enough to pull a limited winning variety, entering them into the draw for the grand prize.

Want to see how it went? Check out the video below:

The poll, commissioned by PLAION via OnePoll, revealed that the UK's most payday spending happens in the southeast of the country, with an average of £722 coming out of accounts within the first 72 hours.

So, we'd all probably revel in a bank robbery payout, but some Brits put in a little more thought into their heist team. Some would want Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as the muscle, Lewis Hamilton as the getaway driver, or even Derren Brown to deploy a few hypnotic tricks on any bystanders. But 27% of Brits thought they'd be able to manage the operation themselves as The Mastermind — we're a humble bunch.

A spokesperson for PLAION said of the results: “It can be tricky not to spend your hard-earned cash all at once, especially at a time when most expenditures are completely unavoidable." They went on to say, “We can certainly understand the temptation of wanting to rob a bank to get that much-needed injection of cash. However, disposable income won’t get you far behind bars, so we suggest that the heisting fantasy is best left experienced in video games.”

Payday 3 is out now for PC via PC Game Pass, Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5 and GeForce NOW.
