Sony has dropped a fresh 11-minute trailer for Phantom Blade Zero and locked in a dedicated State of Play gameplay deep dive for August 17, giving fans their biggest look yet at S-Game’s dark wuxia action RPG ahead of its October launch.
The extended trailer arrived alongside the game’s PS5 pre-order rollout, showing protagonist Soul battling enemies atop a speeding wagon and clashing with both human and supernatural foes. It’s a solid appetiser, but according to Soulframe Liang, founder and CEO of S-Game, there’s a lot more to come.
Today’s new extended trailer isn’t enough to cover our intricate gameplay systems, dynamic combat, and the dark wuxia land we call the Phantom World, Liang said. That’s why our upcoming State of Play takes a much closer look at what you can expect from Phantom Blade Zero, he added.
What to Expect From the State of Play
The standalone broadcast will focus entirely on Phantom Blade Zero, going deep on gameplay systems and character builds ahead of the game’s October 29, 2026 release on PS5 and PC. Liang explained that the show will introduce never-before-seen characters central to our story while showing just how expressive players can be with their individual builds.

The new trailer also confirmed Donnie Yen’s involvement in the project. According to S-Game, Yen has brought his martial arts and action filmmaking expertise into the combat design since 2023, and he’s providing facial and motion capture for Mó Yuan, the father of protagonist Soul.
