Unfortunately, no, Phasmophobia is not free to play. Phasmophobia is available on Steam, and you'll have to pay to play the game even while it's in Early Access. Unlike some other games, there is no free mobile version of Phasmophobia, and you can't try out a Phasmophobia demo for free.

While it would be great if Phasmophobia was free, the game has a lot of content for being in Early Access and is well worth the money if you're looking for a new horror game to try out in 2023.

How Much Does Phasmophobia Cost?

Buying Phasmophobia won't set you back too much, even though it isn't free. Phasmophobia costs $13.99 in the Steam store. As with most other games on the platform, the price sometimes goes down during Steam sales throughout the year.

Phasmophobia is only $13.99 right now, but developers have stated that the price will go up after the game is out of Early Access. According to the game's Steam FAQ, “The price will not change during Early Access; however, we plan to raise the price upon release.”

It makes sense that the game will cost a little more after the Early Access period ends, since developers spend the Early Access period improving the game, developing new content, and ironing out bugs.  If you want the best deal on Phasmophobia, try to purchase the game during a sale -  but don't wait until its full release, as you'll likely be paying more than you would right now!

While Phasmophobia isn't free to play, it's an affordable game that most fans agree is well worth the cost. If you've had your eye on this game, your best bet is to pick it up now before prices potentially go up after the end of the Steam Early Access period.
