Pokémon GO Halloween – Timed Research Challenges & Rewards

Halloween has arrived in Pokémon GO, bringing forth plenty of terrifying scares and nightmare encounters for a limited time. Similarly, the previous year’s Halloween event will be broken down into two parts, with the first part available on 20th October 2022. 

There are various new wild encounters with Ghost-type Pokémon and a new Mega Raid available, as well as a new batch of Timed Research tasks for Trainers to complete and earn rewards. This guide details all the Timed Research challenges announced and the rewards earned for the Pokémon GO Halloween event.

All Pokémon GO Halloween Timed Research Challenges & Rewards

According to notable Pokémon source Leek Duck, this year’s Halloween event for Pokémon GO comes with new Timed Research tasks. To access these new challenges, Trainers must purchase an event ticket using their local currency, equivalent to $5.

In addition, they can receive several event bonuses instead of the current bonuses available to all Trainers. These bonuses include triple Candy for catching, hatching, and transferring Pokémon and two guaranteed Candy XL for walking with their buddy Pokémon if they’re level 31 or higher.

Let’s look at all the paid event-exclusive Timed Research tasks and their rewards for the Halloween event in Pokémon GO:

Halloween 2022 Timed Research (1/4)

• Walk two kilometers: Spinarak encounter
• Catch ten Pokémon: Joltik encounter
• Catch seven Ghost-type Pokémon: Dewpider encounter

Halloween 2022 Timed Research (2/4)

• Walk two kilometers: Zubat encounter
• Transfer ten Pokémon: Woobat encounter
• Catch ten Ghost-type Pokémon: Gilgar encounter

Halloween 2022 Timed Research (3/4)

• Walk two kilometers: Purrloin encounter
• Send seven gifts to friends: Litten encounter
• Catch ten Ghost-type Pokemon: Sneasel encounter

Halloween 2022 Timed Research (4/4)

• Hatch one Egg: Yamask encounter
• Perform nine Curveball Throws: Duskull encounter
• Catch 13 Ghost-type Pokémon: Galarian Yamask encounter

Completing the first page of the Halloween Timed Research will award Trainers with an encounter with Ariados and Incense. The second-page rewards include an encounter with Golbat and a Limited Egg Incubator.

Finishing the third page of the Halloween Timed Research grants Trainers a Limited Egg Incubator plus an encounter with Umbreon. The final page of Timed Research, upon its completion, gains them an encounter with Spiritomb and an Avatar Pose.

The Halloween Timed Research is available in Pokémon GO starting on 20th October 2022 at 10 am local time. They’ll disappear from the game either upon completion or when the event concludes on 1st November 2022 at 10 am local time.
