Can Pumpkaboo Be Shiny In Pokémon GO?

The Pokémon GO Halloween event offers an assortment of rewards that Trainers can earn. In addition, dozens of Ghost-type Pokémon will be featured in Wild Encounters and Raids, each sporting unique scary-themed costumes for a limited time. One such pocket monster is the pumpkin-shaped, Pumpkaboo. But can Pumpkaboo be Shiny in Pokémon GO this Halloween season? Let's find out.

Is There A Shiny Pumpkaboo In Pokémon GO?

Many Trainers want to know if the Ghost-type Pokémon Pumpkaboo will appear in its Shiny variation and, more importantly, how they can catch it. Fortunately, those who've yet to add one to their PokéDex will be happy to know that there will be a Shiny Pumpkaboo spawning, but they will have to wait a while.

Currently, a Pumpkaboo is appearing for the Halloween Part I festivities, which will be available until 27th October 2022; however, it will not feature in its Shiny form. Instead, a Shiny Pumpkaboo will appear with the Halloween Part II content starting on 27th October 2022 at 10 am local time.

Pumpkaboo will also don a Spooky Festival costume during the second half of the Halloween event. As to where it will be appearing, Trainers can encounter it during the Wild Encounters with the chance of this Pokémon appearing as a Shiny.

Trainers must be patient to catch a Shiny Pumpkaboo donning a Spooky Festival costume, as not every Wild Encounter guarantees a Shiny Pokémon. Catching one is relatively straightforward, with no tricks or glitches involved.

Equipping a couple of PokéBalls, irrespective of their rarity, and implementing different throws can guarantee a Shiny Pumpkaboo to be caught. Likewise, the more often Trainers play, the higher their chances of crossing paths with a Shiny Pumpkaboo.

Lastly, it's encouraged that Trainers should visit various spawning locations within their area also to increase their chance of encountering the Pokémon. Essentially covering most of the locations, especially unexplored spots, could be worthwhile in their pursuit of locating a Shiny Pumpkaboo.

The Halloween event for Pokémon GO is live in-game and will conclude on 1st November 2022 at 10 am local time. There are various Raid Bosses, Field, and Timed Research activities available in-game to all Trainers during this time.
