Similarly to past Pokémon GO events, New Year's 2023 will have a handful of event bonuses that will be active for the event. These bonuses all pertain to egg hatching, so if you have received Eggs from the Winter Holiday and the New Year's 2023 events, this is the perfect opportunity to hatch them faster.

- Egg-hatching distances are halved when placed inside an Incubator during the event
- Egg hatching distances are decreased by a quarter (1/4) for the first three Eggs using the Pokémon GO Egg hatching widget
It's important to note that these bonuses will not stack, and the Egg hatching widget is available for iOS and Android devices. There will be 7 km Eggs will be available for this event which the following Pokémon can be hatched from with the chance of it being a Shiny*:
- Pichu wearing a party hat*
Furthermore, Niantic outlined that a special Collection Challenge will be made available for the event in which completing its tasks earns you Stardust. Finally, Field Research tasks will be available as you can assist Professor Willow with his New Year's research and earn Stardust as a reward.
