What Time Does 7 Star Charizard Tera Raid Battle Event Start

The 7-Star Charizard Tera Raid Battle event will begin on Thursday, 1 December 2022, at 4 PM PST. The event will last until Sunday, 4 December 2022, at 3:59 PM PST. Following that, the event will go live again on Thursday, 15 December 2022, and will end on Sunday, 18 December 2022, at the same time.

This event is speculated to be Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's first-ever 7-Star Raid and will likely be much more difficult than the 6-Star Raid Battles we have access to at the moment. 6-Star Raid Pokémon are all level 90, so we can expect Charizard to be level 100. Additionally, 6-Star Raid Pokémon usually have 5-6 perfect IVs, so it is likely that Charizard will have a beneficial nature and 6 IVs as well. We don't know yet whether or not it will be EV trained.

It is only possible to capture one Charizard per save file, so make sure you are geared up and ready to take on the Dragon Tera Type Charizard!

Best Counters For 7 Star Charizard Tera Raid Battle Event

Charizard has access to a lot of move coverage which is what makes it a particularly scary Pokémon. If you plan on bringing any Fairy-types, Dragon-types, or Water-types, it has access to Dragon, Steel, and Grass moves to counter you (such as Dragon Pulse, Metal Claw, and Solar Beam). Additionally, if you plan on one-shotting it with the quadruple Perrserker strategy, you can expect to take a max-powered flamethrower to the face.

The best Pokémon to counter the 7-Star Charizard Tera Raid Battle is Azumarill. Azumarill has access to powerful Fairy-type attacks that can hit Charizard for super-effective damage. Additionally, its water type nullifies any powerful Fire-type attacks Charizard may have. If you Terrastalize into a pure Fairy-type, Azumarill's Huge Power-infused Play Rough attack should hit for a lot of damage. If you factor Belly Drum into the mix, then the damage only gets higher.

The best move set for Azumarill would be:

  • Play Rough
  • Liquidation
  • Aqua Jet
  • Ice Spinner
  • Optional - Belly Drum

Although, you will likely only be using Play Rough. It is also recommended to use either the Assault Vest to minimize damage or the Choice Band to increase your damage. The caveat for these items is that you can only use attacking moves or the same move, respectively. So, Belly Drum can't be used if you choose to use either of these items. Players can catch a static Azumarill with the Fairy Tera-type in Casseroya Lake.
