It is time once again to get excited about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are getting a new DLC drop later in 2023 and it looks like it is going to be filled with new content. New Pokemon, new locations, and a lot more for players to look forward to. And of course, there will be plenty of new events for the game as well.

Until the launch of the new DLC, Pokemon will be releasing new events throughout the year. Most of them will be in the form of a Tera Raid event that will allow players to get Pokemon that are sometimes difficult to get. One such Pokemon is a shiny Gimmighoul. Here, we are going to go over the counters for Gimmighoul in this Tera raid event.

When Does The Gimmighoul Tera Raid Event Start In Pokemon Scarlet And Violet?

The Gimmighoul Tera Raid event is actively happening in Scarlet and Violet. The Gimmighoul Tera Raid event was announced during the most recent Nintendo Direct and they announced that it would go live as soon as the Direct ended. This means that players should not waste any time and jump on Scarlet and Violet and take advantage of the raids.

Just remember that Tera raids do not last forever, especially events. Players will only have a limited time to take advantage of the Gimmighoul event that is currently happening. Players have until July 2nd to complete the event. So if you want a Shiny Gimmighoul, now is the time to get one for yourself.

Best Counters For The Gimmighoul Tera Raid Battles

The absolute best counters for the Gimmighoul raid are going to be Gholdengo, Umbreon, Fluttermane, and Annihilape. From what we can tell the Gimmighoul is going to be a Ghost Tera Type during the raid battles. Dark and Ghost Pokemon will have an advantage against that Tera Type and make quick work of it.

It is going to be a 5-Star raid battle, so it should be easier than taking on a Black Crystal Raid. There is also the fact that unless Gimmighoul has special moves for the raid, it will only have weak moves in the forms of Astonish and Tackle. Plus, the stats for Gimmighoul is low, so it actually should be very easy to take down.
