How To Get Second Koraidon Or Miraidon In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

Here is how you can get a second Koraidon or Miraidon in Pokémon Scarlet or Violet.
How To Get Second Koraidon Or Miraidon In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

Koraidon and Miraidon are two of the most unique legendary Pokémon ever created. Players are gifted these Pokémon at the start of the game, and unlike most other legendary Pokémon, both Koraidon and Miraidon have so much personality. Furthermore, they are not only a faithful companion to the player but double as a means of transportation as well! Thanks to Koraidon and Miraidon, players are able to traverse all across the Paldea region with the greatest of ease. Surely, the only thing greater than one Koraidon or Miraidon... would be two.

Yes, you read that right; it is actually possible to obtain a second Koraidon or Miraidon in Pokémon Scarlet or Violet. This article will cover everything you need to do in order to get that second legendary Pokémon and add it to your team.

Firstly, in order to get a second Koraidon or Miraidon, you will need to fulfill the following criteria:

  • Defeat the Elite Four and the Champion (and Nemona).
  • Defeat all the Titan Pokémon (and Arven)
  • Defeat all Team Star bosses (and Cassiopeia / Penny).
  • Clear Area Zero and defeat the final boss.

Once all of these conditions have been met, you will need to make your way back to Area Zero. Use the teleporter to travel to the very bottom of the area, and off to the side, the Koraidon or Miraidon used by Professor Sada or Turo will be waiting for you to battle it!

The second Koraidon or Miraidon will be level 72, so make sure you are prepared for a tough battle. Luckily, unlike in other Pokémon games, if you defeat this legendary Pokémon, instead of fainting, it will respawn in about one or two minutes. Make sure you bring plenty of Timer Balls for this battle unless you plan on using your Master Ball!

Unfortunately, the Koraidon or Miraidon obtained via this method will constantly be in its battle form. Your rideable legendary companion has the ability to switch between riding form and battle form at the press of a button. This second Pokémon will be locked in its battle form, meaning that even if you trade the version exclusive legendary to the opposite game, you will not be able to ride them. The Pokémon Scarlet gang is in shambles, knowing they'll never get to ride on a cool motorcycle! However, this allows you to freely trade the extra Pokémon to someone with the opposite game to complete your Pokédex.

And that's all you need to know about how to get a second Koraidon or Miraidon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
