Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is no stranger to RNG. From the battles to the Pokemon you find, there is a lot of calculated chance on how the game operates. That is why it is good news when Pokemon announces that there will be an event raid for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet because some random chance is removed.

That said, the Event Hydreigon Tera raid battles will run in the first week of January 2023, meaning that it is guaranteed that this Pokemon will appear. Here, we will discuss the various Pokemon you can bring to counter Hydreigon and make the raid a lot easier for yourself.

One of the most important things to know about these event raids is when they are happening. Unfortunately, the event raids are temporary and can be easy to miss if you are not playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet daily. Luckily for everyone, Pokemon has announced the upcoming raid events.

It was announced that the event Hydreigon raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will happen on January 6th and will end on January 8th. That is not a lot of time to prepare for the raid. Luckily, we have the perfect Pokemon to suggest bringing during the raid against Hydreigon.

By nature, Hydreigon is a Dark and Dragon-type Pokemon. Unfortunately, there is no fixed Tera-type for Hydreigon during these events. So the best way to prepare against Hydreigon is to go after its natural weaknesses.

With that being said, players have a couple of options to consider. Iron Valiant is probably the best Pokemon to counter Hydreigon during the event Tera raids. The reason for that is Iron Valiant is both a Fairy-type and a Fighting-type Pokemon. Both of these types perfectly counter Hydreigon and should withstand any moves it has naturally.

Sylveon, Iron Hands, and Tinkaton are all great choices as well. Tinkaton will have a lot of natural resistance against Hydreigo,n and Iron Hands will do a lot of damage to it, assuming the Tera-type isn't Ghost.
