In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, there are a number of evolutions that originated with Pokémon Platinum. These evolutions, such as Magnezone, are add-on evolutions to existing strong Pokémon. One of the most desired of these Platinum evolutions is Electivire, the evolved form of Electabuzz.

Electivire is a straight Electric-type, like its predecessors. It evolves from Electabuzz but the evolutionary line starts with Elekid. Players will need to find Elekid and evolve it into Electabuzz before they can even think about adding Electivire to their party. Below, players can see the full process to acquire Electivire in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Getting Electivire in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

To start, you’ll need to have an Electabuzz. This Pokémon evolves from Elekid, which can be found in the Grand Underground in a number of different caves. The easiest cave to look in is Dazzling Cave, which has a high chance to spawn Elekid at various levels. However, Elekid is exclusive to Brilliant Diamond, so Shining Pearl players are out of luck unless they trade with another player.

Once you have Elekid, you can train it up to level 30 to evolve it into Electabuzz. With this Pokémon, you can now go about acquiring Electivire. To do so, you’ll need the Electirizer, which can be found near the Valley Windworks. You need to use Surf next to the windworks and head north to find the item sitting on the ground.

With the Electirizer in hand, give it to Electabuzz to hold. You now need to trade that Electabuzz while it’s holding the item. Once traded, the Pokémon will evolve into Electivire. Finding a trade partner can be difficult, though. If you don’t have anyone to trade with, you might be stuck with Electabuzz for the foreseeable future.
