Earlier this week, Nintendo released additional information about the Legendary Pokemon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. There are the standard encounters that there were in the original games but the developers also decided to add some new ones in the remakes. Among the most exciting are two Mythical encounters with Mew and Jirachi.

Both Mew and Jirachi are Psychic-type Pokemon, with Jirachi also possessing the valuable Steel-type. Both are nearly impossible to encounter in any of the previous Pokemon games with the exception of one or two titles. However, that’s changing with Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Below, players can find out exactly what they need to do to encounter and earn themselves a free Mew and Jirachi in the upcoming remakes.

The first thing that you will need to do is make it to Floaroma Town in either Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl. Floaroma Town is available once you defeat the Oreburgh City Gym, home to the rock trainer Roark. Once there, you can find a flower patch to the north of the town.

Inside of the patch, there will be a man and woman in hats standing next to each other. To earn the Mew, you need to speak with the woman and have some saved data from Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! on your Nintendo Switch that you’re currently using. If you do, then the woman will gift you with Mew.

For Jirachi, players need to speak with the man and have saved data from Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield on their Switch.

Jirachi and Mew are extremely powerful Pokemon, both having wide movesets and outstanding stats. Jirachi also has the coveted ability Serene Grace, which makes any attack have a chance to have a secondary effect on the opposing Pokemon. These Mythical Pokemon should make your journey through Sinnoh much more fun when Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is released on 19th November.
