There is a fair amount of Grass-types Pokémon to add to a party in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. From Roserade to the starter Turtwig, players won’t have much trouble finding a Pokémon to help take on Cynthia’s Gastrodon and Milotic in the Pokémon League. However, if players want to wait until the post-game, they can capture one of the original Grass-types in the franchise.

Bellsprout is a part of the original 151 Pokémon and can be caught in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. However, players will need to wait a solid amount of time before they can capture it. Below, players can see exactly what they need to do to add Bellsprout to their party.

To begin, you will need to have beaten the main story of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and acquired the National Dex. The National Dex can be acquired via Professor Rowan after seeing all 150 Pokémon in the regional Sinnoh Dex.

Once you have the National Dex, you can go about catching Bellsprout in the Grand Underground. You can go into any one of the following caves to find the tiny root Pokémon.

  • Swampy Cave

  • Sunlit Cave

  • Still-Water Cavern

  • Riverbank Cave

  • Grassland Cave

  • Bogsunk Cave

You can also visit Routes 224, 229 and 230 to catch a Bellsprout in the tall grass.

If you want to expedite the process of leveling Bellsprout, you can also catch its evolved form Weepinbell in all of these locations as well. Once you have a Weepinbell, you can use a Leaf Stone to evolve it into a Victribell.

That’s all you need to know about catching Bellsprout in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
