How to evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Dusknoir can be one of the most powerful Ghost-types in all of Sinnoh.
How to evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

There are several terrific Pokémon featured in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl that didn’t originate from Sinnoh. From Gengar to Vulpix, players have access to a plethora of Pokémon outside of the Sinnoh Dex. However, there are also Pokémon that had their final evolutions start with Sinnoh.

The Duskull line was originally introduced in Generation III but Game Freak decided it needed a third evolution. This evolution was from Dusclops into Dusknoir, which was introduced with Pokémon Platinum. This evolution and entire line has been returned with Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and players can figure out how to acquire a Dusknoir in the guide below.

To begin, you’ll need to find a Duskull. The Pokémon are exclusively found in the Grand Underground. Duskull is only found in Stargleam Cavern and Dazzling Cave. Once you’ve acquired the floating Ghost Pokémon, you need to evolve it into Dusclops at level 37.

With your Dusclops in the party, you can now go about evolving it into Dusknoir. Unfortunately, this can’t take place until you’ve reached the post-game of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. This requires beating the Elite Four and acquiring the National Dex, which happens after you see all 150 Pokémon in Sinnoh.

After both of those checkboxes have been marked off, you can go about finding a Reaper Cloth. This is the item that Dusclops needs to be holding in order to evolve into Dusknoir. However, it doesn’t stop there, as Dusclops needs to be traded to another player while holding the Reaper Cloth. Once it’s traded, it will evolve into Dusknoir. This is the same method that Dusclops needed to evolve in Pokémon Platinum.

You’ll either need a second Nintendo Switch and copy of either Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl or find a willing player to trade with. If you have neither of these things, then you might be stuck with Dusclops for a while.
