It's an exciting time for Pokémon fans with the Pokémon World Championship 2022 on the way and set to begin later this month. For those interested in joining the event and want to know the details beforehand, then we've got you covered.

Pokémon World Championship 2022 - How to watch and schedule
During the Pokémon Presents event just recently, we were given a breakdown of what we can expect from the upcoming Pokémon World Championship 2022. The event schedule was broken down with the event starting on 18th August, and will conclude on 21st August 2022.
The event will be held in London and hosted in the ExCel London convention center, with eh hosts expecting thousands of players to compete in person across a wide variety of games. For those attending in person, arriving on 17th August 2022 will net you the Welcome Kit pickup and check-in will begin at 4 pm GMT / 5 pm BST.

Pokémon World Championship 2022 - Format
Players of the Pokémon TCG, video game, and Pokémon UNITE can earn Championship Points at tournaments throughout the Championship Series season to qualify for Worlds. Players of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and video games must have a minimum number of Championship Points based on their age group and regional zone to be invited.

The top players will advance automatically to Day Two, and some will be given travel awards to the competition. Players of Pokémon UNITE will be eligible under a slightly modified Championship Point system. For more information, go to the Pokémon UNITE Championship Series page.

Throughout the season, players of Pokémon GO and Pokkén Tournament DX compete in Qualifier tournaments for the chance to receive a direct invitation to Worlds. The top competitors in these Qualifiers will also get a travel award to the event.
Pokémon World Championship 2022 - Prizes
Depending on the championship that players partake in there will be a different tier of prizes up for grabs. The way prizes are handed out is also dependent on the age of the winner, mainly whether they are above or below the age of 18 as shown below:
