Can Yveltal Be Shiny In Pokémon GO?

Yveltal is coming back as a 5-star raid in Pokémon GO, but can trainers catch a Shiny Yveltal?
Can Yveltal Be Shiny In Pokémon GO?

There are a lot of different Pokémon GO raids happening in September that it might be easy to miss a few. But you do not want to miss your chance to take on and catch the legendary Dark and Flying-type Yveltal in a 5-star raid.

There are a large number of raids scheduled to happen in the upcoming weeks. The 5-star raids in Pokémon GO are an excellent way to catch Legendary Pokémon and add them to your team.

This is especially true if you are interested in catching a shiny legendary Pokémon. This guide is meant to help you understand if you can catch a Shiny Yveltal in Pokémon GO.

Is there a Shiny Yveltal Available in Pokémon GO?

If this is the question you are asking yourself, then do not worry. Like a majority of 5-star raids, Yveltal will have both its normal form and its shiny form available to catch. But catching a shiny from a raid is a bit different than encountering one in the wild.

Defeating a 5-star raid is difficult, but there is plenty of time to catch a Shiny Yveltal in Pokémon GO. The Yveltal 5-star raid battles begin on 27th September, and they will end on 8th October at 10 am local time. That is about a week and a half time to catch shiny Yveltal.

To start, you will need to join and beat a 5-star raid to even have the chance to catch a shiny Yeveltal. With Yveltal being a dark and flying type Pokémon, bringing in strong Rock and Electric-type Pokémon like Rhyperior or Xurkitree will be essential to bringing down this 5-star raid.

Due to how strong Yveltal is, going into a 5-star raid alone is not the way to go. 5-star raids will need a minimum of two to three strong players to take down a raid. But of course, going with a maximum of five trainers is recommended to take down Yveltal as quickly as possible.

It is important to note that when you encounter a 5-star raid, the Pokémon will never be shiny during the raid battle. Players will only know when a raid Pokémon is shiny after they have defeated the Pokémon. On top of that, it is player dependent on whether or not a raid Pokémon is shiny or not. Some players might encounter a shiny Yveltal, while others might miss out.

The odds of encountering a shiny Pokémon during a 5-star raid is 1 in 25 or a 4% chance of finding a shiny Yveltal. Although the odds are low, and you have to beat a 5-star raid to even have the chance of catching a shiny Yveltal in Pokémon GO, there is plenty of time for trainers to put themselves in the best position to catch one.
