Pokémon GO May 2022 Community Day is coming up, and Niantic announced revealed the featured Pokémon this month will be Alolan Geodude. The event is set to be a popular drop as players will have access to tons of exclusive content.

Here's everything fans need to know about this Community Day, including the featured Pokémon, special research, and free bonuses!

Pokémon GO May 2022 Community Day will take place on 21 May 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time, with many events and bonuses for fans to enjoy.

Pokémon GO Alolan Geodude Community Day - Featured Pokemon

Alolan Geodude, the Rock-type Pokémon, will be the only featured Pokémon this Community Day. Players who evolve Graveler during the event will receive an Alolan Golem that knows a special attack, Fast Attack Rollout. This attack has 4 power in trainer battles and 14 power in gyms and raids.

Players will also have an increased chance of catching a shiny Alolan Geodude.

Pokemon GO Alolan Geodude Community Day - Special Research

Players will be able to access the Alolan Geodude special research story, "A Rocky Road," by purchasing a $1 ticket on the day of the event.

This event will also debut ticket gifting, which lets players directly purchase special research tickets for friends.

Alolan Geodude Community Day will feature a number of individual bonuses, including:

  • 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon
  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
  • 2× chance to receive Geodude XL Candy from catching Alolan Geodude
  • Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
  • One additional special trade can be made during the event and up to two hours afterward for a maximum of two for the day
  • Trades made during the event and up to two hours afterward will require 50% less Stardust

The event will also feature a Group Bonus: 

  • If enough Pokémon are caught with help from a single Lure Module, the 3× Catch Stardust bonus for Trainers near the Lured PokéStop will become a 4× bonus for 30 minutes

Trainers who take snapshots during Community Day will also receive a special secret bonus prize. A bundle with 30 Ultra Balls will be free in the shop during the duration of the event. Lastly, trainers can obtain free limited-edition event stickers by opening Gifts and going to PokéStops.
