Niantic is hosting in-person Pokémon GO Fest events all around the world this year to coincide with the global Pokémon GO Fest event that will take place in June.

One of these in-person Pokémon GO Fest events will take place in Sapporo, Japan, in August 2022. Because the Sapporo event is so large, it will take place both throughout the whole city of Sapporo and in Nakajima Park. Here's everything trainers need to know to prepare for this enormous event, with information courtesy of the official Pokémon GO website.

Tickets for Pokémon GO Fest Sapporo, which takes place from 5th August 2022 to 7th August 2022, are now on sale. Interested players can purchase their own tickets for  ¥3,000 on the official  Pokémon GO website.

Tickets are available on a "first-come, first-served basis," meaning that the event could potentially sell out, and fast.

Though the event lasts for three days, trainers will only be able to purchase a ticket for one day of the event. Each day of the event will be split up into a morning session and an afternoon session, with one half of the day happening in Nakajima Park and the other half throughout the city of Sapporo.

Trainers will be able to choose whether they'd like to be in Nakajima Park or Sapporo in the morning and afternoon.

According to the official Pokémon GO website:

  • A ticket for the morning session offers the event experience within Nakajima Park from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the city event experience from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time.

  • A ticket for the afternoon session offers the city event experience from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the park event experience from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time.

Ticket add-ons

Trainers can purchase also the following add-ons, new for 2022, to enhance their Pokémon GO Fest Sapporo experience:

  • Raid Lover add-on +¥1,200 (including applicable taxes): This add-on grants up to 12 in-person Raid Passes total for each day by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms, an additional 5,000 XP after every raid you complete successfully, and six additional Candy and three additional Candy XL after catching Pokémon in five-star raids.
  • Critical Hatch add-on +¥1,200 (including applicable taxes): Hatch Eggs in 1/4 the normal distance (this bonus does not stack with other similar bonuses), and earn double the XP, double the Candy, and double the Stardust for hatching Eggs.
