It's a new year and a new season in Pokémon GO as the Pokémon Season of Heritage is finally here. Set to last three months, Pokémon GO players have events, research tasks, and more to look forward to.
Within the Season of Heritage, there will be a one-month long Timed Research Task throughout January for players to unlock rewards. The Season of Heritage XP Challenge is split into 15 different tasks and is available to start now.

How to get the Pokémon Season of Heritage XP Challenge
While the Pokémon Season of Heritage XP Challenge will run for a month-long period, there is a requirement to get started. The Timed Research event is only available to Trainers who have pre-purchased a ticket for the Pokémon GO Tour: Johto prior to Monday, 10th January 2022.

Season of Heritage XP Challenge - Pokémon GO
The month-long Timed Research task headed by Team Instinct’s leader, Spark began on 1st January and will run until 31st January 2022. There are 15 total tasks with a potential 240,000 XP amongst other rewards including a bonus for full completion of all 15.
In addition to the exclusive tasks, there is a 2× XP bonus for the first catch of each day. Here's the full list of tasks and subsequent rewards.

Note: Niantic has stated there will be an additional option to purchase the Goomy Hat in the shop after the Season ends for players who did not complete all 16 tasks.
