It’s all systems go as Trainers from around the world arrive in London, the United Kingdom, for the Pokémon World Championship 2022. Featuring intense battles across multiple Pokémon games, developer Niantic has announced in-game activities for Pokémon GO Trainers can participate in to celebrate the upcoming esports tournament.

Additionally, there are plenty of rewards and a limited edition Pikachu to obtain if you’re lucky enough to spot it during Raids. Here are all the activities and rewards coming to Pokémon GO as part of the Pokémon World Championship 2022 Celebration event.

Pokémon World Championship 2022 Celebration – GO Battle League Raids

Developer Niantic has detailed several limited-time activities for the Celebration event running concurrently with the Pokémon World Championship 2022. These include several Raids, which will take place from 18th August 2022 until 23rd August 2022 at 8 pm local time.

One-Star, Three-Star, Five-Star, and Mega Raids will occur during this period, featuring the World Championships 2022 Pikachu appearing. There are chances Trainers may encounter several Shiny forms of various Pokémon that are appearing in the Raids.

Below, we have listed all the Raids that Trainers can participate in during the Pokémon World Championship 2022 Celebration event:

  • One-Star Raids:
    • World Championships 2022 Pikachu*
    • Galarian Farfetch’d*
    • Marill*
    • Barboach*
    • Timburr*
    • Scraggy
  • Three-Star Raids:
    • Primeape
    • Lickitung*
    • Skarmony*
  • Five-Star Raids:
    • Zacian
    • Zamazenta
  • Mega Raids:
    • Mega Slowbro

Pokémon indicated with an asterisk (*), will have their Shiny forms also appearing during their respective Raids. Trainers can attempt to catch any of these Shiny forms during these Raids if you’re lucky enough.

Pokémon World Championship 2022 Celebration – Timed And Field Research Tasks Encounters

In addition, with all the Raids arriving to Pokémon GO, there are several Timed and Field Research Tasks encounters Trainers can look forward to. When Trainers have completed the tasks from the Timed Research, they can receive the following rewards from the encounter:

  • World Championships 2022 Pikachu (and Shiny form)
  • Elite Fast Technical Machine (TM)
  • Elite Charged Technical Machine (TM)

During the Field Research Tasks encounters; however, there are several Pokémon they can interact with while completing various tasks:

  • World Championships 2022 Pikachu*
  • Bulbasaur*
  • Gastly*
  • Rhyhorn*
  • Magikarp*
  • Chikorita*
  • Mudkip*
  • Galarian Zigzagoon*
  • Beldum*
  • Galarian Stunfisk*
  • Fletchling*

Pokémon marked with an asterisk (*) will have their Shiny forms appearing during the Field Research Tasks encounters. Trainers who have yet to catch any of these Shiny forms will need to keep an eye on them when they’re busy with tasks.

Pokémon World Championship 2022 Celebration – Event Bonuses

Niantic has detailed the Event bonuses Trainers can be awarded during the Pokémon World Championship 2022. As mentioned above, Trainers have between 18th and 23rd August 2022 at 8 pm local time to claim these rewards we’ve listed below:

  • Teams inspired by setups utilized by Trainers who have won in the Pokémon GO Regional Championships are to appear at PokéStops
  • GO Battle League sets will be increased from five to ten daily, totaling 50 battles each day
  • Trainers can receive x3 Stardust as rewards from the GO Battle League

The Pokémon World Championship 2022 will broadcast live from 18th August until 21st August 2022, starting at 8 am UTC as Trainers can watch the Pokémon GO action via the Pokémon GO Twitch channel.
