Who would have thought that sleeping could be one of the biggest apps for mobile devices? That seems to be the case for Pokémon Sleep, as it's being reported that the Pokémon-themed sleep-tracking app has grossed over $100 million in revenue within its first year of release.

This is being reported by PocketGamer.biz, which published AppMagic data detailing the Pokémon-themed sleep-tracking app's revenue earnings and downloads since its launch. The news comes as Pokémon Sleep is approaching its first-year anniversary celebrations.

According to the Pocket Gamer.biz report, most of Pokémon Sleep's revenue came from its Japanese player base, which is estimated to have spent around $73 million during this period. On the other hand, its US counterparts have spent an estimated  $15 million, with Taiwan players reported to have spent around $4 million.

Regarding overall downloads during its first year, the sleep-tracking app saw a whopping 9.8 million downloads, 44% of which came from Japan. 17% of Pokémon Sleep's downloads came from the US, and 4% came from Taiwan, making these three countries contributing the most revenue and downloads in its first year.

Speaking of Pokémon Sleep's First Anniversary Fest celebrations, publisher The Pokémon Company detailed some exciting plans worth catching ZZZs for. This includes the debut of Paldea's starter Pokémon, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Sprigatito, with some new bonuses in store, like the Mini Candy Boost.

Additionally, there will be some limited-time Dream Gifts that they can collect besides Snorlax and limited-time missions to complete, from which they can claim unique rewards. These include Pokémon Incense for Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Sprigatito, which will be awarded to players in the first week, while they can claim Candies in the second week of the first-year anniversary celebrations.

Pokémon Sleep is available for mobile devices via the Google Play and Apple's App Stores. The Pokémon Sleep First Anniversary Fest runs from July 15th to July 29th, 2024, with a week-long Login Bonus event available between 8th and 14th July 2024.
