As part of Pokémon Day 2024, The Pokémon Company announced a brand new mobile game - Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. The game is designed to be a brand new way for players to experience the long-running Pokémon TCG, for both new players and veterans alike.

In the brief trailer, it was revealed that players will be able to open up free packs each day to increase their collection, as well as being able to trade cards with friends. The game will also allow players to take part in virtual TCG battles. So, when is it set to launch.

When Does Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Release?

As highlighted in the Pokémon Presents presentation on Pokémon Day (February 27, 2024), Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is set to release in 2024

At the time of writing, an exact release date has yet to be announced, however The Pokémon Company confirmed that they are aiming to release the game during this year.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will be available to play and download on both iOS and Android devices, via the App Store and Google Play store, respectively. 

Will Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Have Early Access?

At the time of writing, it has not been confirmed whether or not Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will have an early access period. It is also unclear whether it will release worldwide simultaneously, or have a staggered release across different regions.

Will Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Be Free?

While unconfirmed, it seems likely that Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will be a free-to-play game, with players able to purchase additional cards via microtransactions in-game. However, players will be able to open two packs a day at no additional cost.
